Steven Gerrard Becomes Rangers Manager

Steven Gerrard

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has, as was widely anticipated, become the new Rangers manager on a four-year deal..

Gerrard had been linked with a move to Glasgow by the British press for much of the last week, but the move was confirmed Friday morning by the Rangers board.

It is quite a sizeable undertaking for a new manager, with no real previous experience – certainly not at the top level.

There is the arguement that the Scottish league doesn’t count as “top flight football”, and many have likened the Scottish Premier League to The English Championship.

Depsite all that, Gerrard gets to manage a side that will be playing European football next season, and he will have the full weight of the Rangers faithful on his shoulders to get results and win the SPL next season.

Celtic have dominated the Scottish football landscape for years, and fans of Rangers will undoubtedly want to see an end to the rule of their fierce, long-time rivals.
